Director of Bands - Elter Wilson. Mr. Wilson is a 1996 graduate
of Choctaw Central High School and received his Bachelor's degree from Delta State University in 2000. He was enrolled
as a graduate student at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS the summer of 2005 and will be enrolled at the University of Cinncinati,
OH, Fall 2008, to obtain his Administration in Educational Leadership degree. Mr. Wilson was drum major of
the 1997 Spirit of America National Honor Band, marched with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps for 2 years, in
1999 & 2000, and was also a member of the Independent-A Winterguard, Optemystic. Mr. Wilson was the 2006 Color Guard
Caption Head for Memphis Sound Drum and Bugle Corps based out of Memphis, TN and served on the 2007 visual
staff for the Mississippi Lion's All-State Band. He also served as Director for the Independent A Winter Guard;
Unity, 2004 GulfCoast Guard Circuit silver medalist, from 2003-2006. Mr. Wilson is serving his 3rd year as
the Winter Guard Director for 2007 MIA SRA Silver Medalist, 2008 MIA SRA Gold Medalist Choctaw Central High School Winter
Guard this coming season. Mr. Wilson has been Director of Bands at CCHS since January 2001, where he teaches the Maroon
Band, Middle School Band, and Pearl River Elementary Band. Mr. Wilson also coaches the CCHS Cheerleaders, small ensembles
and offers private lessons.
Brass Instructor - Elijah Ben. Mr. Ben is a 1996 graduate of
Choctaw Central High School, a 1998 graduate of East Central Community College, and a 2002 graduate of Delta State University
and is currently enrolled as a graduate student at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. Mr. Ben was a member of the 1998
Junior College All-State Band and the 1998 Junior College All-State Choir. Mr. Ben has been at CCHS since August, 2002,
and assists with all bands. He is also the music director at Conehatta Elementary and teaches piano lessons full time.
Woodwind Instructor - Dorian Trahan. Ms. Trahan is a 1993 graduate of Laurel High School, an 1996 graduate
of Jones Jr. College, and received her Master's degree from Delta State University in 2001. She joined the tribal school
staff in August, 2004. Ms. Trahan is a current member of the Mississippi Bandmasters Association, the National Band
Association, and the International Jazz Educatiors Association. Ms. Trahan also plays the bass clarinet for the Hattiesburg
City Band and the Mississippi Wind Symphony. She is the band director for Bogue Chitto Elementary and Tucker Elementary,
and assists with the Maroon Band hornline section.
Percussion Instructor - Larry McCullough. Mr. McCullough is a 1996
graduate of Neshoba Central High School and a former student at Delta State University. Mr. McCullough was a member
of the 1996 Delta State All-State Honor Band, and is a card-carrying member of the Percussive Arts Society. He has been
with the CCHS band program since February, 2001. Mr. McCullough teaches percussion for all bands, coaches small
ensembles, and offers private lessons on percussion and brass instruments.
